Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a chosen username. When you submit rinks or ice reports, that content is stored in association with your account. If you opt in to the Free Agency board, you may voluntarily provide additional contact information (such as a phone number or email address) to facilitate coordination with other players.
When you make a merchandise purchase, we also collect your name, email address, billing/shipping addresses, and transaction history to process and fulfill your order.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to operate The Local Barn — to display your contributions, manage access to private rinks you own or have joined, send notifications about rink activity, maintain your reputation score, and process/ship merchandise orders. We may use your email to send important service or transaction updates.
Payment Processing (Stripe)
All financial transactions and payments are securely processed by Stripe. We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to Stripe, whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Order Fulfillment (Printful)
To print, package, and ship your custom merchandise orders, we share your name, shipping address, email address, and order specifications with our printing and fulfillment partner, Printful. Printful is contractually restricted from using this information for any other purpose.
Free Agency & User-to-User Communication
The Local Barn facilitates user-to-user communication through its Free Agency board. When you post a Bench Opening or register as a Free Agent, you may voluntarily provide contact information (phone number or email address). This contact information is displayed to other authenticated users of The Local Barn for the sole purpose of coordinating games and ice time.
Your contact information is never displayed to unauthenticated visitors. Authenticated users must explicitly click “Reveal Contact” to view it. You may remove or update your contact information at any time from your account settings or by deleting your listing.
No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information (PII) — including your email address, phone number, or any other contact details — to third-party data brokers, advertisers, or any other external parties. Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve The Local Barn platform.
Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. We may use basic analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. No advertising cookies are used.
Data Retention & Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal profile data is removed. Community contributions (rink reports, reviews) may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of the directory.
